61ST VENICE BIENNALE
The soothing intentions of the Swiss-Cameroonian curator Koyo Kouoh for the 61st Venice Biennale, who passed away last year, were carried forward by her team until the opening, which was disrupted by the international geopolitical context. The jury resigned before the inauguration, traditional golden lion awards were postponed, and a public prize was created.

Hard Times – Soft Sounds
OSOSPHÈRE
Born from the electronic nights initiated in the late 1990s in Strasbourg's station district, the Ososphère festival brings together some fifty creations this year. At the inaugural speech at La Laiterie, artistic director Thierry Daney outlined the 2026 edition's goal: to invite us to "converse with the future."

INTERNATIONAL DIGITAL ARTS BIENNIAL
The first International Digital Arts Biennial began in April 2012 in various locations around Montreal including the Museum of Fine Arts, the Contemporary Art Museum, the DHC and the SAT. Alain Thibault, its founder, is also the artistic director of the Elektra Festival and the instigator of the International Digital Art Market.

This year, the TodaysArt of The Hague and Cimatics of Brussels festivals fused and so last September, TodaysArt Brussels set itself up in several places around the city. The Almost Cinema and STRP festivals on the other hand remained in their regular spots: the Vooruit Theatre in Ghent and the Eindhoven Strijp quarter.

THE ARS ELECTRONICA FESTIVAL IN LINZ
The oldest of digital festivals has returned to its preferred sites at the Ars Electronica Center, the Brucknerhaus, the Lentos and OK Centrum after a very brief turn at the Tabakfabrik. Meanwhile, the symposium for this 2011 edition, entitled Origin, was organised in collaboration with the CERN.

The last edition of Elektra was mainly focused on the visualisation of sound through performances given in Usine C. A few partner exhibition spaces, like the Darling Foundry, are associated with this Montreal event. PIXELACHE, HELSINKI, 2011
Juha Huuskonen founded Pixelache in Helsinki in 2002. Since then, a truly international network has emerged around it. The curator Mathieu Marguerin along with Kevin Bartoli have prepared the French version, Mal au Pixel, which takes place in Paris each June.

The Transmediale Festival focuses on the role of digital technologies in our society, while Club Transmediale is devoted to "adventurous" music and related visual arts. This year, the Schering Foundation and the [DAM] Gallery were associated with these two events in Berlin.

THE STRP FESTIVAL OF EINDHOVEN

ARS ELECTRONICA REPAIRS THE WORLD
The most recent edition of the Ars Electronica Festival, dedicated to art, technology and society, mainly took place in a former tobacco processing plant in Linz. Theoreticians, researchers and artists from around the world met there to participate in a think-tank aimed at "repairing" what is still possible, starting with the environment.
